Bosom Buddies offer help with breastfeeding

Last year, seven ladies attended training to become breastfeeding peer supporters, known as Bosom Buddies.

The training lasted 10 weeks and was organised through Health for All, assisted by Two Willows and New Bewerley Children’s Centres, and NHS maternity support. They and other peer supporters are now helping mums at the following breastfeeding support groups:

  • Middleton Family Centre, 252 – 262 Sissons Road, LS10 4JG Tuesdays 10am-12pm;
  • Cottingley Children’s Centre, Cottingley Dr, Leeds LS11 0JP Thursdays 10–11.30am New Lives Group
  • Two Willows Early Years Centre, Cardinal Square, Leeds LS11 8HS Thursdays 1–2.30pm New Lives Group

Mothercare at Crown Point in the café Fridays 9.45–11.15am.

One mum said “I didn’t realise there was so much to know about breastfeeding. It will help me to continue breastfeeding my baby, and to pass my knowledge on to others”.
