If you look round Beeston, you can’t help but notice the work of Beeston in Bloom and what we have achieved to improve the area – roadside planters on Beeston Road, painted utility boxes, and the Millennium Garden in Cross Flatts Park to name but a few.
We have also achieved a Gold medal in the RHS Yorkshire in Bloom competition for the last 3 years. It takes a lot of hard work by a small, dedicated team of volunteers. As we’re about to start another busy season of gardening we decided we deserved a treat and arranged a day trip to Filey.
It would of course include a visit to a garden centre. While we were there we cast a critical eye over their floral displays, had a tasty lunch, and finished off at the garden centre, buying as many plants that we could cram on the minibus.
Thanks to Ian Pickup who was our driver and Vivienne Bate who paid for the bus. It was a great day, and we have charged our batteries ready for another busy year. We hope to see you at Beeston Festival in June.
