Bird walk in Middleton Woods

Alan Shaw from the Friends of Middleton Park has been in touch via the South Leeds Life Facebook page:

And now for some good news!! And I think we need it! This weekend sees another of the Friends of Middleton Park’s series of Bird Walks with Linda Jenkinson.

If you haven’t been on one of these before, we walk around the park (therefore getting some good exercise), listen out for birds with Linda identifying them by their song, and then try and see if we can spot them – a quite difficult task in woodland. However, we have seen some lovely birds including jays, woodpeckers, song thrush, dunnock and many others I have forgotten the name of.

The walks are tailored to the ability and stamina of the walkers so why not come down at 10:00am on Sunday (we will start from the Visitor Centre) and join us as we stroll around, you may be surprised at what you hear and see! There will be an opportunity for refreshments in the Visitor Centre after the walk.
