Belle Isle dog walker threatened by man with knife

A 38 year old woman was walking her dogs on the grassed area at the junction of Raylands Close and Raylands Lane, Belle Isle when she was threatened by a man with a knife, police have said today.

The incident, at 5.20pm on Friday 31st August, saw the woman approached by a white male, wearing a grey hooded top and grey bottoms. He asked her if she had a mobile phone or any cash with her before pulling out what appeared to be a flick knife.

The woman then turned and ran with her dogs and the male ran in the direction of Clapgate Primary School.

Police say attacks of this nature are rare but would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen the man responsible or who may have any information about the incident.

Police are also asking for anyone with CCTV cameras to check footage and notify the police of any images of possible suspects they have caught around that time.

Please ring 101 in confidence and ask to speak to Holbeck CID.
