Following on from Hunslet and Beeston Festivals, it’s the turn of the Belle Isle and Holbeck communities to come out and enjoy their local festivities at Galas on Saturday (5 July 2025).
Belle Isle Gala takes place at Windmill Primary School and Coopers Field with entry via Belle Isle Road. The free event runs from 12-3pm and features inflatables, a climbing wall, birds of prey, live performances and low cost food stalls.
Performers include Opera North’s brass quintet and the In Harmony Choir, Royal Marine Cadets, DAZL, Supreme Starlets and Diamond Twirlers. You can enjoy the Carnival of the Animals film show in the Parkside Hub and ferret racing outside.
Peter Sutton from BITMO, one of the organisers said:
“There’s so much to see on Saturday – 25 stalls, police and fire brigade, ice cream van, climbing wall and four giant inflatables. It’s all low and no cost. We hope to see you there.”
Meanwhile Holbeck Gala also takes place on Saturday on Holbeck Moor from 12-4pm.
The organising committee commented:
“We are very excited for this year’s gala, a great chance to come together and celebrate the community of Holbeck.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming you all to the moor for loads of fun, music, stalls, inflatables, animals, climbing wall and much more!”
