Beeston Festival invites you to a tea party

Beeston Festival AGM posterAnnual General Meetings are, by and large, not the most exciting events. One group are trying to change that by disguising their AGM as a tea party.

The people behind Beeston Festival are holding a tea party on Saturday 5th October. Along with tea and cake they are laying on entertainment in the way of live music and a magician.

Many of our readers enjoyed the Beeston Festival back in June. It was a glorious sunny day, there was lots of live music, plenty of games and scores of stalls selling all manner of things.

The committee who organise the festival work throughout the year and now it’s time to present their annual report and accounts to the public. It’s also an opportunity to get ideas for next year’s festival and give new people the opportunity to get involved.

Councillor Angela Gabriel, Chair said:

“We are good at putting on entertainment on the day of the festival, so we thought why not put on some entertainment as part of our AGM?

“We do hope people from all sections of the community will come along, enjoy themselves and be inspired to put their ideas forward so that the 2014 festival can be even better than this year.”

The Beeston Festival tea party (and AGM) will be on Saturday 5th October 2013 at 3pm at the Beeston Village Community Centre on St Anthony’s Drive.
