Recruitment has started for the new Aldi store at Middleton Park Circus which is due to open in March 2014.
South Leeds Life has seen job adverts for Store Assistants and Store Assistants, although these are not yet on the Aldi, or Employment Leeds websites. Both posts are for 25 hours a week. We understand that a total of 22 posts are to be advertised.

Councillor Kim Groves, who leads on Jobs & Skills for Middleton and Belle Isle and is Chair of the Employment & Skills Board for the Inner South Area Committee, said:
“We are delighted that Aldi are recruiting and offering opportunities to local people. We have worked closely with both Aldi and Asda on local opportunities and we will be holding information events. One to one help is available at the Job Shop at St George’s on Monday and Thursday for help with CV writing and advice on training.”

Job Shops are also located at Dewsbury Road One Stop Centre, Hunslet Library and at The Point in the White Rose Centre.
The Aldi store is being built on the site of the Middleton Arms pub. Aldi already owned the site and had planning permission before the pub burnt down in December 2011.

I’m actually gutted I didn’t even get offered the job for Middleton Aldi because I have no retail experience but when I applied it says you get 9 weeks training…so could you please explain how am I even going to get a retail job if I haven’t got retail experience :-(.. I would of trained hard and I was really looking forward to hear from Aldi giving me a chance to be an Aldi retail assistant. I’m actually upset I wasn’t even given the chance to prove myself.
