The annual Holbeck Gala will return to Holbeck Moor this Saturday for a day of shopping, food, music and performance.
The popular event will take place on 21st July from noon to 5pm and will feature arts and craft stalls, live music from bands, a dance procession, hot and cold food stalls and a range of exciting activities specifically for young people, including the final of the local talent competition, South Leeds Superstars.
As a new feature in association with this year’s event, Old Chapel Studios will be running a post-gala music concert at Holbeck Working Men’s Club which will feature a range of local bands playing a variety of different music styles.
Entry to the gala and the music concert is free and local councillor and chair of the Holbeck Gala committee, Councillor Adam Ogilvie, is hoping for another successful event this year.
Councillor Ogilvie (Chair of the Holbeck Gala Committee ) said:
“I am really excited about what we have in store for people on Saturday. We have got our fingers crossed for some sunshine, but the event will be going ahead rain or shine and people will still have a great time regardless of the weather.
“This year’s gala, along with the follow-up event at Holbeck Working Men’s Club and the final of South Leeds Superstars, will also be a great opportunity to showcase the brilliant array of performance-based talent we have in the local area, from solo and group music acts to dance groups.
“The Holbeck Gala is always a brilliant community-based, family friendly occasion and is great way to show off the fantastic community spirit and pride we have in this area of south Leeds.
” I am really looking forward to it and hope to see as many people there as possible on the day.”
