Wasted this Summer is the title of a public health campaign to help people in Leeds make wiser choices about their behaviour over the summer.
Suzanne Macklin Lead Practitioner of the Young People’s Team at Forward Leeds said:
“The messages that we are trying to get out there aren’t about not having fun but about doing so in a way that is not putting yourself or anyone else at risk.
“We’re offering advice on how to party properly.
“At summer parties and especially at festivals people can get carried away. We’re offering some practical information to help people be clued up about what they are doing, so they can then make safer choices about alcohol and drugs.”
Forward Leeds are distributing leaflets, postcards and posters across the city with useful information on them and will also be sharing messages on social media with the hashtag #WastedSummer.
Hints and tips include advice on staying hydrated, how to minimise risks and what to do in the event of someone being unwell.
Copies of the posters, postcards and leaflets can be obtained by contacting Forward Leeds on (0113) 887 2477 or emailing info@forwardleeds.co.uk
