Free tickets: Barber Shop Chronicles

The cast of Barber Shop Chronicles explore the intimate conversations which take place in the barber’s chair in Inua Ellams’  joyous new production coming to the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Directed by National Theatre Associate Director Bijan Sheibani, this vibrant new production follows African men from London to Johannesburg, Harare, Kampala, Lagos and Accra, addressing identity and masculinity.

The show sees the return of Fisayo Akinade (Refugee Boy) and Peter Bankole (The Caucasian Chalk Circle) to the Playhouse, alongside a cast of television, film and stage stars, Hammed Animashaun, Maynard Eziashi, Simon Manyonda, Patrice, Cyril Nri, Kwami, Sule Rimi, Abdul Salis, David Webber, and Anthony Welsh.

The production plays in Leeds from 12 – 29 July 2017 following a sell-out run in the National’s Dorfman theatre, and is co-produced by the Playhouse, the National Theatre and Fuel.

We have two free tickets for Wednesday 12 July as part of the South Leeds Goes To The Playhouse project. If you would like to see the show and help us write the review please get in touch by emailing: info@southleedslife.com telling us why you would like to see the show.
