St Mary’s Church in Beeston is hosting ‘Carols by Candlelight’ on Sunday (18 December 2016) at 7pm.
This is not a full carol service but a chance people to come together and sing some favourite Christmas carols together.
Rev Lindsey Pearson, the Vicar of Beeston said:
“If you got a taste for singing carols when we switched on the Beeston lights, or at the Lantern Festival, then why not come along and join us?
“We can offer a good sing of traditional carols … plus a few extra bits; followed by mice pies and mulled wine. Everyone is welcome to join us.”
St Mary’s is hosting a number of events over the Christmas period:
Tuesday 20 December, 10.30am-12.30pm: Messy Christmas – a morning of crafts and activities in the hall, followed by the Nativity story in church, and food back in the hall. For young and old (children must have a responsible adult with them). Come as a family, come with your neighbours, come by yourself.
Christmas Eve, Saturday 24 December, 5pm: Crib Service – a short service for younger ones and their families and friends. Come as your favourite nativity character – never picked to be Mary/Joseph at school? Always wanted to be an angel? Come and shine like a ⭐️!
Christmas Eve, Saturday 24 December, 11.30pm: Midnight Mass – first communion service of Christmas with traditional carols.
Christmas Day, Sunday 25 December, 9.30am: Christmas Day Communion with carols – for all the family. Bring along your presents to show us!
New Year’s Eve, Saturday 31 December, from 8pm: church hall open for informal party – bring food and music to share, and games for us all to play. 11.30pm: church open for prayer and reflection and Watchnight Service to welcome in the New Year.
