The GATE is somewhere people living in and around Belle Isle, an inner city of Leeds, can now go to get advice, training and employment. With a range of daily activities, workshops and sessions, they recognise and acknowledge the level of digital skills people are required to have, and then support them to achieve that through a positive and encouraging learning environment.

HUGO programme is on a mission to connect communities on the road on water and on solid ground through digital buses, a boat and the HUGO Centre in Leeds. The HUGO family takes a creative approach to supporting individuals to reach their potential and enjoy a successful future On-Line and off.
Tenant of the year Award Nominees
Julie Holmes – Belle Isle TMO
At Belle Isle TMO they understand that sharing hobbies and interests is a way of breaking down neighborhood barriers, building a sense of community sharing skills and reducing social isolation, and this is exactly what Julie has done for their TMO and their tenants. Julie has transformed and blossomed into an active member of the Belle isle community through tenant involvement and volunteering opportunities.

“She has been able to help others with their trees and they have been amazed at what Julie has found for them.”
Julie was nominated for a TPAS award for her voluntary work as she also helps with the Belle Isle Gala and many other things and by doing these things has given her new hope and confidence even though she is in constant pain and struggles to walk.
On 24th April Julie went to Manchester to the TPAS awards ceremony as she reached the finals for the Northern region. Julie did not win an award but JULIE IS A WINNER IN MY BOOK.
