Poll: Will new Southern entrance to Leeds Station benefit south Leeds?

Much has been made of a new £14.2 million southern entrance to Leeds Station and its benefits to South Leeds residents.

When councillors approved the plans last year, some elected member said it was a brave bid to ease congestion at station – while others argued it was a £15m white elephant.

Farnley and Wortley Green Party councillor David Blackburn said at the time:

“This is access to the south of the city alright, but it’s an entrance for the people of nearby Holbeck Urban Village and their commutes to London, it’s not an entrance for the rest of South Leeds.”

What do you think? Will it be a bonus for south Leeds residents or a white elephant? Could the money have been better spent? Take part in our poll and post a comment.
