Ten year old Jenny Murgatroyd has winning ways when it comes to designing a Christmas card.
Her picture of Mr and Mrs Snowman around a Christmas tree was judged the winner of a competition organised by The Hunslet Club to find a design for their official fund raising card for 2014.
Jenny, who found out about the competition when she attended an Activity Camp at the Club, was one of more than 50 children who submitted entries and her picture was chosen by a panel of judges from the Club, White Rose Shopping Centre and South Leeds Life.
The cards are on sale at The Hunslet Club, the Customer Services desk at White Rose and at the BITMO Housing Office in Belle Isle.
They were printed free of charge by Beeston-based printers Team Impression on their newly installed state of the art HP Indigo 10000 digital press – one of only six currently in operation in the UK.
Gary Hickey, Greetings Division Manager at Team Impression said:
“We are delighted to be able to help The Hunslet Club because of the fantastic work that it does in the local community and we hope that they raise plenty of money from the sale of the cards.”
The Hunslet Club is the White Rose Shopping Centre local charity partner for 2014 -2015 and Centre Director James Bailey, added:
“We were impressed by the standard of entries and feel sure that Jenny’s card will prove popular with our customers.”
Jenny, a Year 6 pupil at Thorpe Primary School, received an early Christmas present from Team Impression and a gift card from White Rose when she went to Team Impression’s facility to start the printing process.
