A series of fun, creative workshops for the whole family is coming to Middleton Library later this month.
Run by Opera North in partnership with Middleton Library, these workshops will have a literacy theme, looking at the much-loved classic for children, Cautionary Verses by Hilaire Belloc.
Workshops are designed for 4-7 year olds but the whole family, young and old, are welcome to join in the fun!
Attending all three workshops will provide a full arts experience, but each can equally be enjoyed on its own.
- Monday 28th October, 2pm
Storytelling Workshop – hear dramatic renditions of the stories, creative your own tales and explore drama and movement in this fun workshop with a captivating storyteller. - Tuesday 29th October, 2pm
Music Workshop – with the help of a professional musician and composer, use instruments, your body and your voice to create your own music to accompany one of Belloc’s humorous tales. - Wednesday 30th October, 2pm
Arts & Crafts Workshop – explore the story characters and put your arts and crafts skills to work to create masks and puppets of your favourite ones!
Sessions cost £2 per child (parents FREE) or £5 for all three workshops. All families will also get to take home a copy of Cautionary Verses free of charge (RRP £6.99). Places are limited so advance booking is highly recommended.
