The John Charles Centre for Sport is holding an Open Day tomorrow, Saturday 7th September 2013.
The Council is showing the great range of facilities on site including the Aquatics Centre, The Indoor Athletics and Indoor Bowls centre, The Tennis centre as well as South Leeds Stadium athletics track and Rugby League. A free day out for all the family is promised with a wide range of activities including:
- Taster fitness sessions
- Adapted bikes
- Lifesaving
- Aqua Zumba
- Diving
- Big Splash family swimming
- Synchronised swimming
- Tennis – Cardio and Mini
- Trampoline
- Mini athletics
- Bowls
- Bouncy castles
- Basketball
- Strike Football and Striker 4 Tots
Hunslet Hawks are joining in, Lois Forsell and Andrew Wilson of Leeds City Council will be on the pitch in the stadium running a rugby league time trial and rugby league skills sessions and fun games 2-4pm. Lois and Andrew will be joined by Harry the Hawk, who may even challenge your time in the time trial!!

Maybe if the centre was more accessible for people who rely on public transport, it would be much busier. If my wife is using the car for work then I can’t easily get the kids down there.
