Looking for something fresh and new? A career change? Experience of teaching environmental education? Knowledge of practical conservation and tool use? Do you want to work in the environmental sector, but lack the experience to land your first job?
Look no further…
The Conservation Volunteers at Skelton Grange Environment Centre are currently recruiting for Volunteer Officers to start in September 2013.
You could spend your time learning to teach children about the world around them and trying your hand at a variety of practical conservation skills. You will gain excellent work experience that will be valued by employers, develop a range of transferable skills, take part in a comprehensive training programme, and best of all join a friendly and supportive staff and volunteer team in a green oasis hidden away in South Leeds.
They are looking for volunteers who can commit to four days per week (Tuesday to Friday), ideally for six months or more (we can be flexible about the length of time). You don’t need experience, just enthusiasm and the desire to work with children.
To apply email us at skelton@tcv.org.uk for an application form and send it back to us before the closing date of 9:30am on Monday 2nd September 2013. Interviews are scheduled for the Thursday 5th September, and the start date will be as soon as possible following this.
The Conservation Volunteers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. References for prospective volunteers will be followed up and an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check will be carried out before volunteering opportunities begin.
