We were very happy to celebrate International Women’s Day here at Hamara on Saturday 2 March 2024.
With the decorations up, a fabulous balloon arch, joyous music playing and food and refreshments ready visitors to this event were able to enjoy a lovely hand massage, crafts, dancing and beautiful henna tattoos. With well over 70 people attending, from all walks of life, it was lovely to see women from the local community coming together to enjoy and celebrate each other. We also remembered those special women in our lives who inspired and supported us, by sharing their names and stories.
“It’s been a fabulous day! Sharing stories and remembering those special women in our lives that can’t be here for whatever reason, has been a real privilege” said Sarah, one of the event organisers.
Each visiting lady was given a gift and the children took part in a lucky dip.
“It’s so lovely to see so many women here” voiced one of the visitors. “I have really enjoyed it!”
With all of this in mind why not pencil in next year’s date? We plan to come together again on Saturday 1 March 2025 to celebrate next year’s International Women’s Day!
