Appeal for sightings of man found dead on Hunslet Moor

Police investigating the unexplained death of a man in Leeds are appealing for information to assist in tracing his recent movements.

The body of Edward Franklin, aged 36, of no fixed address, was found in bushes near to the footbridge over the M621 at Burton Row, Hunslet Moor, at 4.24pm on Tuesday (8 September 2020).

A post mortem examination to establish the cause of his death was inconclusive and further investigation is required.

Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death and are trying to establish his movements leading up to when he was found.

He was known to frequent the city centre as part of the street community and was last seen near to Kirkgate Market at about 10.30am on Saturday 29 August.

Officers are appealing for anyone who has seen him in the vicinity of where his body was found or anywhere else at any point between Saturday 29 August and Tuesday 8 September.

A 29-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
