This weekend (24 & 25 August 2019) sees a festival of beer, music and cricket at Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club‘s ground on Gipsy Lane in Beeston.
The club, which is currently celebrating its 150th anniversary, is hosting its third August Bank Holiday beer festival. This year they have added live music on the Saturday, whilst on Sunday you can watch the Hunslet Nelson Sunday XI entertain New Farnley Cricket Club in the Mid Yorkshire Sunday Cricket League (start time 2pm).
Entry to the event is free and there are some great ales and ciders to sample at just £3 a pint or £1.50 for a half. South Leeds life has even sponsored one of the barrels and you can meet the writing team on Saturday night. Wine, gin and soft drinks will also be available.
Bouncy castles, slides, swing boats and hook-a-duck will entertain the children whilst burgers from the barbecue and wood-fired pizzas will keep everyone fed.
A club spokesperson said:
“Feel free to bring your own deck chairs and picnic blankets on Saturday and enjoy some fantastic live music with a drink or two!
“Then on Sunday, as well as the cricket, the barbecue will be on and plenty of background music with plenty of space to let the kids run off some energy. So come along and watch some cricket whilst enjoying another pint or two!”

2-2:45pm Michael Dailey
3-3:45pm Micky Two Tone
