Holbeck host benefit gig for refugee charity

Slung Low Theatre offers space at their HUB venue in Holbeck as storage for Yorkshire Aid, a group of individuals and organisations that work together to provide aid for refugees and asylum seekers in Leeds, Yorkshire and Europe.

Just before Christmas with the stocks full, much of their donated goods were vandalised during a burglary at the HUB. To make this better, and to support the continued, brilliant and tireless work that Yorkshire Aid do, Slung Low are now holding a fundraiser. What a great excuse to get everyone together for a bloomin’ great night!

Get down to the HUB, 67-71 Bath Road in Holbeck on Friday 16 March from 7:30pm and see:

Les Vegas and the International Playboys of Rhythm are a big band bringing swing style to a host of surprising tunes! They’ll have you dancing all night, they promise.

The Commoners Choir is a Leeds based choir who combine political activism with singing and hope.

The brilliant Greensleeveless Ceilidh Band will be playing and calling dances to finish the evening off.

And The Baking Biker is a local bakery who make delicious treats and pride themselves on using using locally sourced ingredients.

As with all Slung Low events it’s “Pay What You Decide”, so bring lots of cash because it’s going to be a great evening. Reserve your tickets via www.slunglow.org.
