Detectives are appealing for information following a knifepoint robbery in Leeds City Centre on Monday (12 November 2018).
The incident happened at around 6.25pm at a car park on David Street in Holbeck when the victim, a 36-year-old woman, was walking to her car.
As she got close to the vehicle, she was approached by a man holding a knife. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and took the car keys from her hand.
A second male appeared and both men made off in the vehicle.
The victim required hospital treatment for a cut to the back of her head sustained in the incident.
The victim’s vehicle, a silver Audi Q5, was found by officers abandoned on Sayner Lane in Hunslet the following day (13 November 2018).
Detective Sergeant Ni Khan, of Leeds District Crime Team, said:
“This was obviously a frightening incident for the victim and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace those involved.
“This is a busy part of the city centre and I would ask for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the area to contact police.
“I would also appeal for anyone who saw a silver Audi Q5 driving from the car park on David Street or saw it in the Sayner Lane area before it was abandoned to contact officers.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or by using the West Yorkshire Police online chat facility, quoting crime reference 13180568443. Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
