Winter Walk at Middleton Park

The Friends of Middleton Park welcomed walkers tall and small, two legged and four, for a winter walk around the woods.

It was a surprisingly mild and sunny afternoon and a most enjoyable stroll in my beloved Middleton Woods. We were even serenaded by the ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer-ing’ passengers of two passing carriages from the Middleton Park Equestrian Centre.

Afterwards there was warming winter soup at the recently opened Lakeside Centre.

I’d provide you with a quote from my dog, Twig, but she’s currently fast asleep dreaming of the birds and squirrels she’s been chasing this afternoon.

The walk was the latest event in the Friend’s calendar of winter activities.

The next walk is 10-12pm on Boxing Day, 26th December. Join Estates Officer Graeme Ashton to see what wildlife is about and the changes the Parks for People Project has made. Details available on the Friend’s website http://www.fomp.co.uk/html/events.htm
