After teaching assistant Tracy Smith told Year 5 pupils at Windmill Primary School in Belle Isle about the work she was doing with a group called The Homeless And the Needy, they were keen to help. The group supports people living rough on the streets of Leeds with food, drink and shelter provisions.
The pupils held an Easter raffle in school to raise funds to buy a trolley for the group. The raffle was a huge success raising £258.80, which meant they could buy the trolley and a lot more:
- 20x Drawstring bags
- 2x Sleeping bags
- 1x Box of Twix
- 3x Tents
- 5x Insulated Mats
- 5x Inflatable Pillows
