What if you could conjure up your own superheroes, with powers customized to your neighbourhood?
That’s the fantasy embodied by Guardians of the City, a public art project dreamed up by two students at New York’s Parsons the New School for Design.
“Guardians of the city” are superheroes created by kids to solve urban problems. Youngsters are asked what needs protecting in their neighbourhoods and they’re encouraged to draw superheroes that have the power to get the job done.
You can find out more about the project – which we stumbled on via Twitter last night – here. We wonder what Guardians we could have for South Leeds?
