White Rose Shopping Centre Seeking Panel of Young Advisers

Do adults really know what’s best?

White Rose Little Guru 1With new technologies, changing attitudes and a fantastic set of skills among the younger generation, White Rose Shopping Centre has announced it’s launching a search to draft in a selection of young experts, aged six to eleven, to give their opinions on everything from fashion to food, the environment to gaming and even toys. Each winner will receive a £100 centre gift card thanking them for their ultra-specialist insight.

White Rose Shopping Centre is looking for five ‘little gurus’ to help shape the future of the South Leeds centre. Yorkshire-based children should apply for one of the five positions by writing in 50 words or less why they deserve the title of ‘little guru’ in their chosen field.

White Rose Little Gurus 2To really share their thoughts, the winners of each category will have a place on the first advisory panel for the shopping centre as it looks to make the centre even more family friendly and enjoyable for young visitors.

Young fashionistas will be tasked with giving a kids take on London Fashion Week and to advise on how other youngsters can ‘get the look’ from White Rose. Future gamers will have a crash course gaming session into the latest and greatest virtual offerings in the centre to rate what’s hot and what simply is not. The junior food critic will taste test children’s dishes from the one of the centre’s many restaurants. To support the centre’s evolving environmental initiatives, a new eco guru is wanted to give a junior perspective on all things green. Last and certainly not least is the coveted position of Toy Tester in Chief who will trial a range of toys from the centre to give their verdict on the winning toys of the moment.

Nikki Appleton, Marketing Manager at White Rose Shopping Centre, said:

“We’re really keen to get children involved in shaping the future of White Rose. We strive to be a family friendly and accessible shopping centre, so it’s important that we have input from the kids on the areas that really matter to them. Whether it’s taste-checking the children’s menus in our restaurants, giving us their thoughts on our toy selection or critiquing the latest kids clothing ranges, we want to get honest feedback from a whole new generation and share their thoughts on what’s working and what isn’t!”

Entries close at midnight on Monday 29 June and the winners will be announced on the Facebook page during the following week. To enter, upload your child’s blog post to the website: white-rose.co.uk/littlegurus (terms and conditions apply).
