White Rose Shopping Centre is launching its charity partnership with South Leeds organisation St Luke’s CARES with a day of fundraising on Saturday 03 June 2017.
To kick-start the year-long partnership, the White Rose and St Luke’s CARES teams will be in the Central Atrium all day on Saturday 03 June with a variety of activities including:
- A pop-up pay-as-you-feel nail bar
- A ‘name the giraffe’ competition, with a stuffed giraffe teddy, a £25 White Rose gift card, and a Giraffe Adoption Pack for Yorkshire Wildlife Park (RRP £40) up for grabs
- A 100-mile cycling challenge in association with Pure Gym
- Live music from Leeds’ own Jonny Walker
St Luke’s CARES is committed to making South Leeds a better place by building the skills, abilities, and confidence of local people to reach their potential. Programmes and projects include employability and retail training skills at its Dewsbury Road Furniture and Household charity shop, work placements for young people at its social enterprise, The Shine Nail Bar, and self-esteem, mentoring, and after-school groups run by The Rise and Shine projects.
Steven Foster, General Manager of White Rose Shopping Centre, said: “St Luke’s CARES is such a vital organisation in our South Leeds community, so we’re delighted to be embarking on a year-long fundraising mission with the team there.
“Our fundraising event on 03 June will be a fantastic start to this relationship. The centre team has already been bubbling with ideas to support St Luke’s CARES, and we’re looking forward to seeing our generous and kind-hearted White Rose visitors rallying around the cause as well.”
