What’s On Roundup 6-12 January 2024

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

We start this week with two residents meetings taking place on Monday, starting with Middleton Community Group which meets on Monday, 6-7pm, at the Middleton Elderly Aid Social Centre, Acre Road, LS10 4LF.

Also on Monday, the Greenmounts & Surrounding Area Tenants & Residents Association meets at 6:30pm at Rowland Road Working Men’s Club, LS11 6ED.

Dewsbury Road Community Hub & Library will be hosting free Flu and Covid Vaccine clinics on Tuesday, 10am-4pm. You’re able to have your vaccine if you are: Pregnant; 65 years old or over; Have a long term health condition; Frontline health and social care worker; Aged 16–64 and are a carer; Aged 12–64 and live with someone with a weakened immune system. The healthcare professionals at the clinic will be happy to answer any questions you may have about winter vaccines.

There are three chances to catch up with PCSOs from the Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team this week. On Tuesday they will be at Hunslet Community Hub and Library, off Church Street; on Wednesday they will be at Dewsbury Road Community Hub & Library; and on Thursday at Beeston Community Hub and Library, Town Street. Each drop in session runs 10am-12pm. Additionally, the NPT Contact Van will be outside St Matthew’s Community Centre in Holbeck on Wednesday from 10:30am-12pm.

Hunslet Together are holding a Music Quiz on Tuesday afternoon, 1:30-3pm at St Matthew’s Community Centre, LS11 9NR. Book you place by ringing the office on (0113) 245 5553

Lego Club is on at St George’s Community Hub in Middleton, LS10 4TQ on Tuesday 3:35-4:45pm.

Trinity Network’s Local History Group meets on Wednesday, 9:45-11:30am at the URC church on Nesfield Avenue, LS10 3LG.

If you would like to brush up your public speaking skills get along to White Rose Speakers who meet at the Leonardo Hotel (formerly Jury’s Inn) at Brewery Place, LS10 1NE.

And finally, Holbeck Together host a Wellbeing Breakfast on Thursday 10-11am at St Matthew’s Community Centre, LS11 9NR. As well as a healthy breakfast there’s a chance to get help and advice from people like the Green Doctors (warm homes) and the Dogs Trust.
