What’s On Roundup 27 August – 2 September 2022

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

We start this week at Granary Wharf near the train station where the Canal & River Trust are hosting a free Activity Day as part of Leeds Waterfront Festival on Saturday, 10am-4pm. You can have a go at kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, rock climbing and more.

Over in Cross Flatts Park it’s the monthly handmade and homemade food and craft market with food, home baking, plants and craft items. It all takes place in and around the Watsonia Pavilion from 9:30-1:30pm

Also on Saturday, Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club are hosting their Music Festival at their ground on Gipsy Lane, Beeston (opposite Cockburn School). Live bands will be on stage from 1-8pm and there will be stalls, activities and refreshments available.

Holbeck Together will be providing Sunday Lunch at St Matthew’s Community Centre from 12pm, book yours by calling (0113) 245 5553.

Skelton Grange Environment Centre have a Wild Play adventure day for 8-12 year olds on Tuesday, 10am-4pm. The day will include bushcraft, den building, games and more. Tickets cost £30 (+VAT) and are available here.

On Tuesday Your Space are holding a Focus Group from 1-2:30pm at the Jamyang Buddist Centre on Ingram Road in Holbeck. The relaxed meet up is for anyone in the LS10 and LS11 area to discuss what would help their wellbeing, bet it support groups, arts & crafts, sport, music or anything else.

Breeze In the Park visits Parkside Field, near Windmill School in Belle Isle on Wednesday with sessions at 12-2:30pm and 3-5:30pm. Tickets are 50p and can be booked here www.breezeleeds.org/breeze-in-the-park

And finally, on Friday Slung Low present The Not So Grimm Twins, a retelling of the famous fairytales. The show is at The Holbeck club at 1pm, suitable for the whole family, pay what you decide. Book tickets at www.slunglow.org/shows
