Belle Isle TMO
The Sport and Active Lifestyles Team at Leeds City Council are offering FREE places on a Walk Leader Training Course for anyone wishing to learn how to lead short walks and groups….
Carla says
“Our fabulous volunteer walk leader Ken- who coordinates our Wednesday Walking Group from the GATE- started out by doing this training too! “
The course will be held on Wednesday 6th September 2017, from 9.30am – 4.00pm at the Public Health Resource Centre in Chapel Allerton.
This is a one day course for anyone willing and able to lead walks in the community. It is a day of practical advice and is run locally to develop new or support established health walk “schemes”. It includes practice in leading a walk and information on keeping people motivated. It is a very informal day and is part of a national training programme for Walking for Health.
If you’re interested, or if you’d like more information about volunteering with Belle Isle TMO, contact Carla at gate@belleisletmo.co.uk, or call 0113 3782190.
Ken says
“Very useful course. Its now nearly 2 years ago now that I went on the course taking over from Carla when Carla became more busy at Bitmo gate.
You do various interactions as a group and finish by doing a 5k walk around Chapel Allerton Park”
