We’re really proud to announce an exciting new project covering South Leeds funded by The National Lottery through Big Lottery Fund. Working Together for a Healthy Start started on 1 September and our aim is for over 800 families to be living healthier lives by 2020.
As part of the project we are looking for an enthusiastic group of volunteers who can support families 1-to-1. Volunteers need to be good listeners, willing to empathise and passionate about giving babies and children the best start in life. No specialist knowledge or skills are needed as we will give volunteers full training.
HENRY (Health, Exercise, Nutrition for the Really Young) is a national charity working to give babies and young children a healthy start in life. HENRY’s evidence-based family programme specialises in helping parents develop a healthy lifestyle for their young children and family as a whole. We know how important health and nutrition is for families in South Leeds where so many children are experiencing social, emotional and physical challenges associated with being overweight.
