VAL launches Good Neighbour Guide

Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) has issued a Good Neighbour’s guide to help people stay safe whilst helping others.

“During the Coronavirus outbreak many people have come forward to help and support their neighbours. We want you and your neighbours to be safe whilst you help one another out during this uncertain time. Together with Leeds City Council we have produced the guide to offer tips and advice on how to help, safely.”

The guide covers:

  • Offering help in your community
  • Looking after yourself whilst helping others
  • Keeping safe at home
  • Keeping safe online; and
  • Financial safety

We previously reported, VAL is also co-ordinating a city-wide volunteering scheme. To sign up as a Community Care Volunteer please fill out this online form.

Once the form has been completed, you will be contacted to discuss your role and match you with opportunities to help. Virtual training and guidance will be provided for relevant roles.

VAL is a registered charity, based in Hunslet, working all year round to support a thriving voluntary, community and social enterprise sector across Leeds.
