The Food Warehouse opens its store at Cottingley

The Food Warehouse has invested more than three quarters of a million pounds in bringing a brand new store to Junction One Retail Park, following the success of the Kirkstall Bridge Shopping Park store. The 9,877 sq ft supermarket opened its doors today (20 August 2019), creating 30 new jobs and offering shoppers all the great value of a wholesale store without the need for membership.

Every customer who visited the store was entered into a free prize draw to be in with a chance of winning a great selection of prizes, including home appliances and gift vouchers. Teams were also giving away packs of new Magic Bagels – designed by Bagel Nash as the best possible breakfast for children, free from preservatives, artificial additives, added fats, E numbers as GMO ingredients.

The Food Warehouse combines the convenience of bulk buying with great value fresh, frozen and ambient food deals across more than 3,000 product lines, as well as including exclusive ‘When it’s Gone, it’s Gone’ deals on a great selection of homeware items.

Launched just five years ago, The Food Warehouse now has more than 100 stores across Britain and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon, with significant growth plans for the year ahead.

Speaking about the new Cottingley store, Kristian Barrett, Operations Director for The Food Warehouse, commented:

“We’re delighted to have opened another store in Leeds. The Food Warehouse is an innovative store format, responding to the changing needs of shoppers by offering amazing bulk-buy deals and homeware offers alongside a fantastic range of frozen, fresh and chilled foods.”

The Leeds store manager, Mike Turner, said:

“Our opening day has been a great success and the whole team has really enjoyed meeting people from our local community.”

The Leeds store opening hours are Monday to Friday: 8am–9pm; Saturday 10am–4pm and Sunday 10am–4pm.
