This Sunday (15 December 2024), our two donkeys will journey through the streets of Hunslet as part of a Christmas Celebration, and you have chance to be part of it!
The event has been arranged by Hunslet Gathering – Hunslet’s new Anglican church in Hunslet. Throughout the journey we will sing carols, and retell the Nativity Story.
We’ll start wandering from Church Street next to St Mary’s Spire at 2pm, travel between the Hemingway flats, followed by a a stop off at Assisi Place. We will then meander through the estate stopping along the way, to finally arrive at Hunslet Church of the Nazarene around 3:30pm.
Then it’s donkey rides, Christmas refreshments and gifts.
Each stop will include a Bible reading relating to the Christmas story retold by an all-star cast of local children and adults. Music will also be played throughout the walks between the stops. We invite anyone joining the parade to dress in Nativity costumes (optional) and bring a light or lantern.
We would love you and your loved ones to be part of the fun this Christmastime by either joining in all or part of the journey or meeting us at one (or more) of the stops.
Further details on the event including the route can be found on the Hunslet Gathering Facebook page – www.facebook.com/hunsletgathering. Alternatively contact me, Jean-Louis on 07850 701588.
