Term starts at Slung Low’s Cultural Community College

Down at The Holbeck, Slung Low are all set to welcome you to the Autumn Term of their Cultual Community College.
The College is College is a place to come and learn, free at the point of use, a wide array of classes and courses for adults aged 18+.

The courses on offer cover a wide range of interests. Here are some highlights:

Flamenco Dancing
Feel like you’ve been transported to Spain with Ariana Armenakas in a six-week introduction to the vibrant, passionate art of Flamenco dance. You will be taught technique and a choreography to take away and practise.

Cook Indian Food (online)
Manjit, and her award-winning team, will guide you step-by-step through a much-loved South Indian recipe, whilst introducing a variety of cooking techniques and delicious spices.

Close Up Magic
One of a kind Michael will introduce you to the wonder and trickery of close-up magic. Be prepared for lots of laughs and for your jaw to hit the floor more than once.

Horror Make Up
Have you ever wanted to go for a zombie look on Halloween, but not been brave enough to give it a go? Whether you’re already a lover of makeup or would like to try something new, come and build up your confidence with the scary side of makeup!

Holbeck Stories
You know Holbeck is special, but did you know it was once the scene of the most profound technological/ economical changes the UK has ever seen? Author Jon Howe will guide you around the local landmarks to learn how pioneering industrialists turned Leeds from a town into a city. All in little old Holbeck.

The Holbeck Choir
Everyone is welcome! Come down to the club: sing, meet new people, and share food. The brilliant Tessa will lead you through a selection of songs and teach you the individual harmonies to beautifully blend as a choir.
