Andrea Edwards has been in touch to let us know that Mrs Liz Snelling was given a special farewell assembly at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Hunslet on Monday.
The staff and children planned the event in secret to to give Mrs Snelling the best send off after ten years as Headteacher. She was clearly overwhelmed by the individual class performances which included a poem “The thing about Mrs Snelling” – an A to Z of words describing her, portraits by reception class, skipping displays, dancing and songs from the school choir.
Andrea, a school governor, said:
“Liz has been Headteacher for the past 10 years and will be a greatly missed not only by the children but by the teaching staff, governors, parents and community as a whole.”
