South Leeds Roundup: Art exhibitions, new kerbs and parkour videos

Here’s your regular roundup of what’s making South Leeds tick on other websites, blogs and across Facebook and Twitter.

We start this week in Hunslet at The Tetley art gallery where a new exhibition is opening. If you’re free on Thursday (2 February) evening 6-8pm why not pop along to the launch event, it’s free.

Hunslet Carr Residents Association report that work has started to fit raised kerbs on the dangerous S bend on Pepper Road. Don’t forget their monthly meeting is on Thursday evening at Woodhouse Hill Community Centre.

Beeston social enterprise The Shine Nail Bar was featured on Liz Green’s Radio Leeds breakfast show on Tuesday. Follow the links to hear the broadcast.

The next Inner South Area Committee workshop will be a discussion about health and physical activity. Appropriately enough it’s being held at the John Charles Centre for Sport, on Wednesday 15 February from 5pm.

Show the Aire That You Care is the name of an event at Thwaite Mills in Stourton on Staurday 18 February. Organised by Groundwork in includes riverside improvement work plus a treasure trail and bird feeder making. Booking essential.

Cottingley Community Centre is starting a monthly community breakfast. The first one is on Saturday 11 February 9-11am.
