South Leeds Music Centre: All ages, all abilities, all instruments

Sophie Bevan, from South Leeds Music Centre has been in touch about the new term’s activities:

saxophone players slmcWe recently received this letter from one of our members, who started learning ukulele with us last year.

“I am writing to tell you about my experiences at the South Leeds music centre as I want to tell you how fantastic it is.

“My name is John and I am 65 years old. For the past 12 months I have been coming for music lessons every Saturday morning with Hannah my music tutor.

“I decided I wanted to learn to play the ukulele and have gone from not being able to play a single note to now being able to play a few songs with confidence and I know 11 different chords, which for me is brilliant.

“I really look forward to my lesson every week. I find it exciting meeting new people and hearing other musicians play. It gives me confidence to push myself further as I see other people progressing and this drives me forward with the help of my tutor.

“I would like to thank everyone who works at the South Leeds Music Centre for making my musical journey such fun. I will definitely be signing up to come back next year.

“If I can do it, anyone can!”
