South Leeds Life: Pilot newspaper in June?

The South Leeds Life Group is meeting this Wednesday (26 February 2014) and will be discussing whether to produce a pilot newspaper in June.

South Leeds Life Group May13Producing a newspaper is time-consuming and not cheap so there are a lot of issues to consider. Anyone who is interested in South Leeds Life’s work is welcome to attend so why not come along and join in the discussion?

South Leeds Life is committed to promoting greater community involvement – that’s one of the reasons we’re here. So at Wednesday’s meeting we will also be discussing how we plan to handle the elections for councillors and members of the European Parliament, which take place on 22 May 2014, to ensure our coverage is fair and impartial. In addition to detailed proposals offering candidates an opportunity to use South Leeds Life to tell readers about their policies there’s a suggestion we hold hustings (public meetings with the candidates) in each Council ward: Beeston & Holbeck, City & Hunslet and Middleton Park.

If you’re interested in either of these issues or just how South Leeds Life is doing then just turn up on Wednesday at 6pm at South Leeds Community Radio, 6A Ashbrooke Park, Parkside Lane, Beeston, LS11 5SF Directions to SLCR
