South Leeds Life community reporters visit Leeds Museum

Yesterday saw the intrepid band of South Leeds Life community reporters learn about photography and how to take photos for their stories – and they also undertook their first assignment.

The group took two cars from Tenants Hall in Middleton down to the Leeds Museum, opposite Millennium Square in the city centre.

They took photographs and discovered more about South Leeds’ rich history and will be deciding which of their photos to use and writing a short story about their trip in next week’s training session.

For those of you who haven’t been to Leeds Museum and might think all museum’s are boring – do go! It’s a really interesting way to find out the history of your city and also South Leeds. There are panels on Middleton Railway and Blenkisop’s Salamanca engine, the pioneering and world famous Hunslet Engine Company and Marshall’s Mill in Holbeck amongst others.

We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
