South Leeds girls’ Spanish football adventure

Last week, girls from Cockburn John Charles Academy and Cockburn School were part of Rothwell Town’s Under 13s  reds taking part in the Costa Daurada Cup tournament, in Salou, Spain.

Impressively, othe girls made it all the way to the quarter finals, narrowly missing out on a place in the semi finals to Spanish team CF Singuerlin.

The team then headed over to Camp Nou to watch Barcelona ladies v Real Madrid ladies … El Clásico!

Gemma Horne from the club commented:

“Well done to all the girls, enjoy your last few days in the sun… we’re sure it won’t be the last time we are represented overseas! Thank you also to our dedicated team of coaches for supporting our players so they can enjoy this amazing experience!”
