Snow need to frown on Blue Monday

Several tonnes of snow will arrive in Yorkshire this Blue Monday – but there was no need to batten down the hatches, as it was confined to a sledging slope at White Rose Shopping Centre.

Built to bring joy to the people of Leeds on Blue Monday, said to be the most depressing day of the year, the slope made of real snow will be free for visitors to enjoy on Monday 20 January 2020.

With the 9m long sledging run, White Rose is aiming to remind visitors that fun and laughter can be found even on the chilliest winter days.

Steven Foster, General Manager of White Rose Shopping Centre, said:

“There’s ‘snow’ greater fun than speeding downhill on a sledge, it reminds us of childlike joy. We wanted to bring a little taste of that carefree wonder to White Rose this January.

“We’re passionate about putting smiles on our visitors’ faces all year round, and we know that January can be a long month for some. It’s been a delight to hear plenty of laughter from The Village this Blue Monday.”
