Share your memories of South Leeds Picture Houses

I am currently in the middle of a project tracing the history of Leeds Picture Houses and am looking for both memories and pictures of any picture houses or Cinemas.

If anyone who visits your site or you know who might have pictures or memories that they would be willing to share, I would love to include them in the project. I have enjoyed reading people’s local recollections and stories of their local picture a house in your previous blogs posted on the site and was hoping to gather further ones, which I could include in the project.

Old or unseen pictures of both the inside and outside of some of the Picture Houses are really hard to find  so if there are any people might have would be brilliant to see and would be a massive help. Perhaps someone or someone you know worked at one in the past or people have a relative or story associated with the cinema, either way I would love to hear from them. I’m trying to cover each area of Leeds so any thing would be great.

If you know of anyone who might be able to help or could pass this on I would be really grateful. I am exploring all avenues to collect things for inclusion in the Project. If you having anything to share please email me at stewartaudus@hotmail.com.
