Residents meeting to discuss end of Managed Approach

A meeting is to held next Wednesday (21 July 2021) to give residents an opportunity to discuss the ending of the Managed Approach to street sex work in Holbeck, announced by Leeds City Council and Safer Leeds last month.

Dennis Kitchen from organisers Voice of Holbeck, explained:

“The meeting is planned as a follow up to the series of Listening Well meetings that were held in the area and as a meeting to discuss and gain the response and understanding of the closing of the Managed Zone on residents and businesses.

“This meeting will:

  • review the Listening Well Report
  • listen to residents and businesses latest perceptions of living with prostitution
  • discuss the latest developments relating to the closure of the Managed Zone
  • seek to prepare a coherent exit plan that responds to the needs of residents and prostituted women.”

Beeston & Holbeck Ward Councillors are understood to have accepted an invitation to attend.

The meeting will be held at The Holbeck, Jenkinson Lawn, LS11 9QX. Refreshments will be served from 7pm with meeting starting at 7:15pm.
