Record-breaking numbers at The Hunslet Club’s Junior Youth Club

We are thrilled to announce that last Thursday (30 January 2025) marked a record-breaking day at The Hunslet Club with an incredible 109 children visiting our free Junior Youth Club! This milestone highlights the growing importance of our youth services and the positive impact we’re making in the lives of young people in South Leeds and beyond.

The Junior Youth Club is a vital part of what we do here at The Hunslet Club, offering a safe and welcoming space where children can access a wide range of activities, including sports, arts, games, and personal development opportunities. Our goal is to provide a positive environment where young people can build confidence, develop new skills, and simply enjoy being kids.

The significant turnout on Thursday underscores just how much our youth services are needed in the community. As challenges facing young people continue to grow, it’s essential that we provide spaces where they can receive support, guidance, and encouragement outside of School. The Hunslet Club has long been committed to offering these opportunities, all completely free of charge, and we’re proud to see more and more children benefiting from what we offer.

Why is The Hunslet Club so Important?

In a time when many families face financial challenges, free youth clubs like ours are more essential than ever. At The Hunslet Club, we’re not just offering a fun space for children to hang out; we’re providing them with the tools they need to succeed in life. Whether it’s building friendships, improving mental health, learning new skills, or simply having a safe place to go after school, the value of our youth services cannot be overstated.

What’s more, our club is a place where children of all backgrounds can come together, regardless of their circumstances, and feel part of a community. We work tirelessly to create an inclusive, positive environment where everyone can thrive.

A Huge Thank You

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the amazing children who visited on Thursday, as well as their families for supporting us. We also want to express our gratitude to our dedicated staff and volunteers, whose hard work and commitment make all this possible. This record-breaking attendance reflects the trust the community has in us and the value we bring to young people’s lives.

Looking Ahead

The Hunslet Club remains committed to offering a broad range of sessions and activities that meet the diverse needs of our young members. From sports clubs to mental health support, creative workshops to educational opportunities, we’re here to help kids grow, learn, and succeed.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to visit, we invite all families to join us and see firsthand the difference The Hunslet Club can make. Together, we’re helping the children of South Leeds and beyond build a brighter future.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates and thank you for supporting The Hunslet Club—where our mission is to help all young people achieve their full potential.
