Police test pubs and off-licences

west york policeOn Friday 25 November 2016 officers carried out a number of test purchase operations at public houses and off licenses across South Leeds. This involved the police using specially trained people who are under the age of 18 going into licensed premises and attempting to buy alcohol.

9 premises were visited in total including one public house and two off-licenses. The staff members who served the young person were dealt with by way of community resolutions and will be invited to attend a meeting with the local Police licensing department.

These operations will continue with any premises who are found selling to children repeatedly risking having their licenses removed by the council.
