Police still seek witnesses to fatal accident in Middleton

Police investigating a fatal collision in Middleton from November last year are appealing for the public’s help.

Despite enquiries to date, no witnesses have been identified. The collision happened at around 5.30pm on Monday 4 November, on New Forest Way, when a reversing silver Vauxhall Vivaro van hit 75-year-old female pedestrian.

The pedestrian, Kathleen Bichard, from Middleton, was taken to hospital but later passed away.

PC Mark Turner, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said:

“We appreciate that it has now been some time since this collision but are asking people to cast their minds back and think about whether they may have seen the van or Ms Bichard immediately prior to this collision.

“It is important for those involved in this collision and their families that we do all we can to establish the circumstances of what has taken place.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat or by calling 101.
