Police release Hunslet Blockbuster Video robbery images

Both suspects at Hunslet Blockbuster

Police have released CCTV images in a bid to identify two suspects who robbed a Blockbuster store in Hunslet.

The incident occurred between 9.30pm –  9.40pm on Sunday Setpember 2 when two male suspects entered the store at the Hunslet Green Retail Park and threatened staff, demanding money.

During the robbery the suspects’ assaulted a 27-year-old male member of staff resulting in a fractured jaw. Two other members of staff sustained blows to the head but did not suffer any long-term injuries.

After taking an amount of coins from the till, the suspects left the premises with one of them having to smash his way through the front door after staff activated the panic alarm locking him in the store.

Both suspects left the scene in a dark coloured convertible vehicle, which is believed to be a VW Eos. The registration plates of the car had been covered in newspaper.

Suspect one is described as a white male, 20-30 years of age, around 5ft 10″, medium build, and spoke with a local accent.   He was wearing a white windproof jacket zipped at the front with the hood pulled tightly over his face, white bottoms with stripes down the side and gloves.

The second suspect is also a white male, 6ft 3″ tall, skinny build, black hooded top with the hood up, black bottoms and gloves. He also spoke with a local accent.
