Police appeal: mobile phone robbery in Hunslet

Police have released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a robbery in which a 33-year-old local man was assaulted and had his phone and wallet stolen.

The incident occurred on Thursday (15/11) at around 7pm when the victim was walking home across playing fields opposite the Penny Hill public house on Church Street, Hunslet.

The victim was initially approached by the first suspect and asked for the time. As he took his mobile phone from his pocket he was assaulted and had his phone taken. During the robbery a second suspect approached the victim from behind and took his wallet.

Both suspects were then seen to run from the scene towards a neighbouring housing estate.

Fortunately the victim was not seriously injured in the assault.
