Metro is reminding passengers in Middleton of new and revised bus services introduced to coincide with the opening of the new Asda Supermarket.
New minibus services 75, 75A & 76 now connect Belle Isle, Raylands, Thorpe Road and the Bodmin Estate with the new Asda supermarket.
As well as the usual range of MCard, MetroCard, MetroDay tickets and concessionary passes, operator of services 75, 75A & 76, Tate’s Travel, is also offering a £1 flat-fare Cheap Day Return.
Further changes to the local bus network will take place at the same time as other bus service changes in West Yorkshire, from Sunday 1 June.
Services 64 and 74 will be amended, so that from Old Lane, Beeston, service 74 will follow the present route of service 64 and vice versa. Both services will extend in Middleton to start from and terminate at Middleton Asda, providing a through-link between Belle Isle and Middleton. Evenings and Sundays, service 64 will replace service 74A via Parkwood Estate; service 74 will run from Middleton to Belle Isle, Hunslet and Leeds only.
Service 87 will also serve Middleton Asda and St George’s Centre, doubling the frequency of services between St George’s Road and Towcester Avenue. It will now run via St George’s Road, Towcester Avenue, Thorpe Lane, Middleton Park Avenue, Acre Road, Sissons Terrace & Bodmin Road.
First’s journeys on service 9 will be re-routed between Middleton Ring Road and Sharp Lane via St George’s Road and New Forest Way to serve Middleton Asda and St George’s Centre. Yorkshire Tiger journeys are unchanged.
Timetables for services 75, 75A & 76 are available now from www.wymetro.com, the Travel centre at Leeds Bus Station or from St George’s Centre. Timetables for services changing on Sunday 1 June will be available online after the Bank Holiday.
